Take off the wheels and inspect the brake system.

if the brakes work but you have to "stand" on the peddle to slow down, check the vacume hose that goes from the intake manifold to the brake booster, if everything is connected, there is a plastic valve in the vacume line, you will see it, take it off and blow into it from both ends, air should only be alloud through in one direction, if it goes through both ways, replace it.

i dont know if a hard bump would cause this but, a vacume leak from that hose will cause a hard peddle

i still have to check that valve, what is that valve called?

initially i did pull the hose of the booster while the car was running, and there was vacuum

also i drove it back home slowly, with my hand on the hand brake and WHENEVER i pressed on the brake pedal to slow down , there is hissing vacuum leak noise, and th epedal goes down very slowly while slowing down

Your booster has a internal vacuum leak the hissing is the vacuum thats supossed to be asstisting the brakes.

You'll have to replace the booster. The diaphram probably got wet with brake fluid ,more than likely you'll have to replace the master cylinder too 1)because it's bypassing fluid(you said it went slowly to the floor) and 2) because it will leak into the new booster and ruin that one.

honestly it's a pain in the dick to get to the mounting bolts. they're way up under the dash against the firewall

since you're replacing it, i'd go ahead and upgrade to 90-93 integra booster & mc....if you have any aspirations for bigger brakes in the future?
