Default vacuum source from brake booster hose? brakes dont work anymore...

I took the vacuum source for my vacuum manifold from my brake booster hose, now my brakes no longer work and the car will not rev over 3/4k RPM when in gear. Do I have a vacuum leak? Or has the increas eof capacity in my brake booster hose got anything to do with it?
Thanks in advance

Huh, what does that have to do w/ the check valve?

Anyways, you need to tee into the brake booster line AFTER the check valve inside of the brake booster hose, you can feel this check valve b/c its hard, and its positioned in between the bracket that holds the hose. In other words, tee into the booster line closest to the intake manifold source. That should solve your problems.

check out this turbo install write up by dasher, it shows how it is supposed to be hooked up.

Note top right of picture. Tee for red hose going to vacuum manifold is on the side of the check valve located closes to the intake manifold.

Another shot:

I think im a little confused here, is the check valve actually located in the stock hose? Or should I lok to buy one and install it? I took the stock hose off and replaced it with silicone hose.... im guessing this is my mistake? If the check valve is not installed how should I expect my car to run? Should it imitate the fault of a vacuum leak? Thanks in advance

which way round does the check valve need to be? so air can run towards the inlet manifold? or towards the brake booster? I noticed in one of the pics there is a piece of hose with an arrow on, this is pointing towards the inlet manifold. i.e. inlet manifold sucking (vacuum)... brake booster blowing. Can anyone confirm this for me

there should be an arrow in the check valve. the arrow needs to point towards the brake booster

Im even more confused now, the two views above seem to conflict with one another ?!?!?

if I was a bit of air would i be flowing towards the booster or towards the inlet manifold?

The manifolds doing the sucking
The boosters doing the blowing

Thats the way i understand it so far, am i right or am i wrong?

Thanks in advance

I'm dumber for reading this thread. How is this so confusing? If you can't visually inspect your booster line to see if you've done it correctly, do this:

1.) Take your hand and grab your booster vacuum line where it attaches to the brake booster.

2.) Run your hand down the line toward your intake manifold, squeezing the line as you move down the line.

3.) Realize that when you feel a hard section or if your hand runs into a f*cking check valve...that it's a check valve in the line.

4.) Mentally note the position of this valve...and do a disco dance.

If you tapped your boost source on the booster side of the check valve, slap yourself and move the tap to the intake manifold side of the valve. If that doesn't work, pull out your engine and check to see if your battery is hooked up to your flux capacitor because if you can't go 88 mph you'll never see firey streaks on the pavement. So simple.
