Default Just looking for some advice from some CD Owners!! Turbo or NA

Alright, Ive got my accord with an H22 in it. The block is JG built for turbo
but its burning some oil right now. I'm running the stock F tranny and the head
is ported & polished.

I currently have the following parts but they are not installed:
JDM H series tranny, skunk 2 stage 2 cams w/ FTR pro series cam gears.

I'm wondering what some of you guys think would be best for me to do as of right
now. I'd like to get a new block and install those parts, go for all motor.
I was also thinking of re-building my current block w/new piston rings to
stop the oil burning and throw a turbo on the H... any advice out there, thanks

Did you search at all?? If you try and turbo the H you're most likely going to want to sleeve the block. It all depends on personal preference whether you go N/A or turbo.

it depends on what you want out of the motor. is this gonna be your DD or a track / drag car?

personally, i'd try to go all motor. as accord 2021 said; the h doesn't take well to boost without sleeving so thats another cost you have to consider. if you went all motor, i'd say, get that head ported and or polished. figure out what compression ratio you want to run and get the pistons to match it. with the right tune and some other modifications(bolt ons and whatnot) that thing will haul some serious ***. and your engine bay won't be so damn crowded - which makes maintainence much nicer.

also, consider with turbo you lose some reliablity even if you build it perfectly.

but, thats just my .02

The block has already been JG built for turbo so I think it can handle it.
It just seems like I might be spending more money and more work to
go all motor, although I'd like to do it.

If you are already running a sleeved block you for sure need the boost. It is so much more fun.

install the h tranny, sell the cams, save up for a turbo setup.

sleeved, forged low compression h22.. shouldnt be a question

Why install the H tranny? the gear ratio is too short for a turbo set-up isn't it...

H22 tranny can take more of a beating than the F one.

As long as the clutch is good it should be fine right?

Yea..

Do you have an LSD in either tranny? If so use that one.

It is not a necessity to have one but it makes torque steer much more manageable with the added power.

The F trans has been known to sometimes go out under alot of power, but there's no reason not to use it at first. Just don't bang it around

not necessarily true maybe in terms of automatic trannies

the trannies are almost identical aside from the gearing

h tranny gearing and boost will be fine. there are tons of h22 boosted civics with h trannies making plenty of power fine.

h motor with f tranny will have pretty crappy gas mileage.

my personal opinion to whether N/A or boost your motor is to actually go N/A, too many ppl are going boost anyways! just by doin reasearch, the H series engines are good engines but have a tendency to blow bcuz of their crappy sleeves. F sereies engines already have the cast-iron sleeves in them. but thats my personal opinion cuz i have the same exact car and i have a f22b2 sohc motor in mine. so far, with all the mods, i have about 175 all motor with ported and polished heads and certain JDM goodies! its all up to you. but i would say, go different and go with the F series. or go with all motor H22.

Worse gearing Ratio. Besides that. if you really wanted a good turbo setup go back to the F block, with the H head.
