taking that you stock charging system is not going to be able to push a 2k amp I say stick to about 500-600rms. Both speakers are good that you listed.

what is the output of it now? The choice is up to you. you picked two good line of speakers. Both perform great and are of good quality. Its going to be up to the install of the product and enclosure size and car to determine anything. No body is going to say this one wins hands down and is the top dog

Seems like your aiming high, both sound great. I'm more of a kicker person, lots of experience with them and it's been all great stuff. Kicker goes above and beyond, if you buy an amp from them and it's rated for so high of a rms, it comes with a birthcertificate that says what they tested it to be, and it's always higher then advertised. Of course there's lots of other things to consider then just the sub, enclosure, power source, amp, capacitor, everything plays some kind of a role.

btw, something like a single L7 built to hit hard impresses me, not something that just looks amazing but sounds loud w/ no umpt behind it.

well one isnt better than the other, it just gives you different wiring options for different power outputs of an amp(or to match the subs wiring to a specific amp)

dual 2 ohm will give you the option of making it a 1 ohm or a 4 ohm speaker when wired in parallel or series, respectively.

a dual 4 ohm will give you the option of making it a 2 ohm or an 8 ohm when wired in parallel or series, respectively.

This is if you are wanting to use 2 of the same type of sub:

if you want to put a 1 ohm load on your amp, you will need the dual 4 ohm(running the voice coils in parallel and the subs in parallel)

if you want the to put a 2 ohm load on your amp, you will need the dual 2 ohm sub(run voice coils in series and subs in parallel)

if you want a 4 ohm load on your amp, you will need the dual 4 ohm sub(voice coils in series and subs in parallel)

if those are the dual 4 ohm subs, you need to wire each voice coil to the amp.

One easy way to do this is to wire the first voice coil of each sub to the amp, then wire the negative of the 2nd voice coil to the negative of the first coil and the positive of the 2nd coil to the positive of the first coil on each sub.
