Default Intake manifold design question.

I have been working on a intake manifold for a 2jzge and I am having some space issues with the hood and because of that the only way it will fit is if the manifold looks like this:

Would having so little space between the top and the runners be a problem?

Thanks guys.

I assume from your sig your trying to build something for an IS300? Trying to do a stock placement or a GTE style?

Its not that it will cause a problem so to say, but i wouldn't say it ideal unless you take account for this in your runner lengths/diameters.

Yeah its for an IS300 and I want to make a stock placement style one, since I don't think anyone has really tried it.

Yeah it's the damn space issue, it's too damn tight in there. If it helps any the diameters are 2" on all 6 ports (same as stock), and the runners are... id say about 13" or 15" long

Ive had virtual works intake manifolds and looked at them in my hands...as well as veilside Im's.... both kinda suck imo. There port angles are quite steep...which is good, but it doesnt allow for a smooth entrance into teh port. the VW intake manifold has an abrupt runner angle change near the port opening. I would say make your own head flange and make one from scratch...or cut the runners off and go from there

No ones bothered to try because why would you want to keep stock placement, all it does it extend the IC piping and crowd the turbo.

My IS setup

Just due to inertia, you are best off trying to pull as much air from directly above the runner inlet as possible.

Can you shorten the runner a bit and drop the floor of the plenum down? Sounds like you already have too much runner length anyway, unless you are aiming for a torque peak around 5000 RPM?

I can't lower it anymore because there is just no room. I scraped the idea since I can't make it fit. Thanks for the help guys.
