Transmission swap

A friend asked me if it's possible to swap a DX transmission for an EX one. I thought the transmissions were the same all type civics except for the difference in generations. If anybody knows, plz let me know. Thanx

all d-series transmissions are the same.

as long as they are both hydro or oth cable transmissons yes, you cannot swap betwen the 2

ie cannot buy a 88-91 civic transmisson for your 92-00, and 01-05 gets a little weired they car cable but cannot swap into 88-91 civics

So basically they just have to be the same year or generation?
