car starting problem
Okay, I'm working on a 95 civic ex coupe. First problem is I just installed a new distrubitor since the car didn't want to start before for 1 yr now. When I try turning the engine on the engine shakes and tries to start but doesn't. It only starts when I keep pushing the gas pedal for about good 30 sec to a min before it can start. Its like a bomb when it tries to start. When I get the car started the car doesn't want to stay idling and always dies when I let go of the gas pedal. Any clues on what's wrong with it??
Try checking your spark plug order on your distributor (for sequence and rotation). I ran into this problem not thinking about it and I had the rotation backwards...corrected it and the car started like a champ. Also, check your distributor orientation to the camshaft (I think that it's only keyed for one possible installation reference). Hope this helps
