Default Key Locked Inside Car

So my friend who just got the 2002 civic accidentally locked his key in the car, no spare. This does seem odd, but how can we get in the car? Will I have to call a lock smith / pop-a-lock place? My prelude is nearly impossible to do, is the civic similar? Thanks.

to tell you the truth, i did the same thing. i called three locksmiths and they couldn't open my car. i have a 2004 lx. either they really sucked or it is hard to get into our cars. but.. to make things short, i called Pro Star and they got it open. im not gonna say how but yea. i dont know if you have a Pro Star where you are but if anything, call AAA for some good locksmiths? They have people that can open it forsure.

Tell your friend to get a spare made at a key shop. If you get one from a key place it won't have the chip in it, but it will still open the doors/trunk, just keep it for emergencies. I got a new key from the dealer for $70

Ive locked my keys in my car before... Its easy, u just press the lock button with the door open, and hoping the door release ( dummy lock) then shutting the door with the keys inside.

I too have 1 key, and i hand to call a tow truck company to come slim jim my lock.

Me too. I did this exact thing the a couple of weeks ago, only my car was running, i had barely any petrol and i wasn't a member of any recovery company...

$400 later for an annual membership (the only thing i could do at 1am) and an the guy came out. He used airbags and wedges to pull the doorframe out and poked the passenger side window switch with a rod to get in.

But i was crapping myself for a good few minutes lol

Well, to join the company (The AA) is £130, then because i needed them there and then it cost me another £70 for an instant callout

Total... £200, or $400

Oi!!! I'm not rich, or spoiled! I earn my own cash fair and square, and i graft my ***** off to get it

What other choice did i have but to do that? The money i had to use to pay for that was the money i had saved to come over to the meet, i havn't got a bottomless money pit! I'm now 100% broke btw

if you're looking for an excuse not to come to the meet, that's not a very good one. meaning, you better come!
