Default How can I fix this (tapped holes)

I tapped my water neck for the turbo coolant return and for my water temp sensor. the sensor is BSPT and the AN fittings obviously adapt to NPT. Well I have two 1/8" thread taps, which I thought were one and the other. Thats apparently not the case, itt turns out I have 2 BSPT taps. So instead of tapping 1 and 1, I got 2 BSPT ports. NPT threads dont go into BSPT ports so I'm in a bit of a sticky wicket here. Is there any way to fix it? Or would I now be better to just have an AN bung welded to the water neck (its cast, which is why I wanted to just thread into it)? I think I have a BSPT to NPT adapter around here somewhere... but lots of adapters usually equals leaks.
How bad am I screwed?

i'm a little confused by your post. you need npt threads and all you have is a bspt tap? go get an NPT tap then, they're available everywhere

1. I thought I had an NPT tap AND a BSPT tap.
2. I tapped 2 holes, one with each tap.
3. I then discovered, through checking the depth of the tapered threads that I had 2 BSPT taps, and now have 2 threaded BSPT ports.
4. I need 1 BSPT port and 1 NPT port.

cast aluminum? it may be possible to fill it with weld and redrill and tap it. were the taps not labeled? you should always check them in the future.

Well.... one of them says 1/8 BSPT, the other says 1/8-27 which = 1/8 NPT. So, like I said... I thought I had one of each. The alleged NPT tap cut threads that will not accept an NPT fitting, but they will take a BSPT fitting. Its either mis-labled, or its a crappy tap, but regardless, I'm slightly hosed right now, just need a reliable way to fix it.

1/8" BSPT is 1/8-28...

Do a simple thread - thread check of each tap on each of the fittings you have. Take the tap and take the fitting you have and hold them side by side engaging the threads into eachother. You'll need to get at least 5 threads engaged to tell the difference between the two by eye. It's only 1 thread per inch.

you can usually retap a 1/8 BSPT thread to NPT. Are you sure you ran the tap deep enough? since it's tapered, the NPT fitting may not fit if you didn't go far enough
