i just got two sidemarkers and one light has 2 wires and the other has 3 wires... what am i suppose to do? i know how to install and everything but do i add another wire or do i just not use the third one?

man I still don't get that. The sidemarkers use 194 bulbs, which have a single filament and only 2 contacts on the end. Could you remove that 3-wire socket w/ the bulb and take a pic of it, or maybe take the bulb out of the socket and take a pic looking down into the socket? I'm really curious what's in there.
Its very simple. When hooking them up (correctly), into a USDM chassis, you will only use two of the three wires you have there. Wire your right signal, test, then wire your left and just use your constant ground, and try one of the wires. From what I can remember doing these on some of the DC chassis is that you can use either or. Got them to work flawlessly everytime. Don't let the third wire scare you, it will work as it was made to. OFF when the parking lights are on, OFF when the headlights are on, and will only blink along with the turn signals. That is the way they are supposed to work from the factory.

That's why I wanted to see a pic inside the socket. My guess it's just some other socket stuck in there that wasn't originally meant to go with the sidemarkers. There are various harnesses on Honda cars that will fit that bulb base. I snagged some harnesses off my friend's EF hatch corner lights when he did his JDM front conversion, as they fit my sidemarkers perfectly.
What I would do is unplug the 3-wire harness (the brown/white thing) from the bulb base (the light gray thing). The bulb base should have 2 prongs inside, for a single-filament 194 bulb with 2 contacts. Look at what slots on the harness line up with those 2 prongs on the bulb base, and those are the wires you need to connect.
I do not know of any 2-filament bulbs with the same wedge base as a 194 bulb, which is why it confuses me to see a sidemarker with 3 wires coming out of it.

All of the used EG/DC sidemarkers I have seen Patrick have that odd third wire. I tested the circuit with a multimeter when I soldered the wires splicing them into the turnsignal harness and output the same numbers ~ within tolerance. If anyone had an Xsi clip etc Im sure it would be able to figure out by looking at the wiring scheme...but it was simple just to trial and error the markers. From what I can remember it worked on both so long as your using the correct ground, but you can always just snip back or remove the third wire, or tape it along (without exposed wires) to the rest of the harness and leave it be. Let us know how it turns out.

So I wired it together and just left the third wire untouched and everything works fine.
I was trying to wire the sidemarkers so that it'd be a standing light and a turn signal but it didn't work. I figured out that the two light bulbs in the USDM turn signals blink alternatively when turning... so which one should I wire into so that the sidemarker is also a standing light? the small bulb's wires?

If you want it that way (which is not the correct sidemarker operation) then you just splice one wire into the parking light power wire, and the other wire into the turn signal power wire. It will get grounded through the turn signal bulb.
I was just wanting to see the socket/bulb out of curiosity. I know these sidemarkers take 194 bulbs so I just wanted to know why there are 3 wires coming out of it.

Sorry I forgot to take a pic when I was installing them. which light bulb is the parking light and which light bulb is the turn signal bulb? Because both lights blink alternatively when turning.

The front turn signal bulb has 2 filaments for both park and turn, so you can connect them to those wires. They only blink alternately when the parking lights are on. Otherwise they flash at the same time.
