Short Shifters Mess up Trany??
Someone told me that Short Shifters will mess up trany's is this true??? Like will make the tranny grind and break...? SHort shifters good for tranys or not...? Need an opinion?

What I heard, that made sense to me is this: People get short shifters and start slammin' gears because they now have a short shifter and are able to do so more effectively. Don't beat the **** out of your tranny because your shift throw has been reduced 2 inches and took .2 seconds off your gear change. I got a B&M, it works great.

it does when u slamming gear. imagine this, with stock shifter, it took .2 sec to change gear(assume that is the fastest the tranny mechanically can shift), but with a shorter shifter, if u use the same force to shift, it will change gear faster and it will over the tranny mechanical limit. then it will start wear out/put excessive stress on the synchro of the tranny.

as for the question no it doesnt, it really depends on the driver, the short shifter makes a more sportier feel to the daily commuter
