Default Compustar Alarm Does Not Work

Hello,
Well today I noticed my Compu Star 2 Way alarm does not work. Usually when I take the keys out of the ignition the car will stay running untill i shut the door, now that does not happen. Also the car does not automatically lock lock anymore, lock when I try to lock it from the remote, or the remote pager on the windsheild does not light up.
So I am guessing it is no getting any power to the system in the car. Now I do not know where to start as the system seems pretty complicated as there are tons of wires. Any help, and anyone know what fuses the systems runs through?

It was professionally installed about 3 years ago by previous owner, but the shop is about 4 hours away, and I don't have the time to drive that far.
Thanks.

That depends on how it was wired. It can vary quite a bit, but most of the time, power is connected to the ignition harness. There's an inline fuse you'll want to check on the alarm's constant 12v wire. You'll also want to make sure the ground to the alarm is good. And of course, don't forget to check the antenna.

Seems like we get this question every other day.

Aight well thanks for help,
I really did not want to mess with it to much because
1) I don't like to mess with wiring to much (besides stereo)
2) It was all done professionally, so I did not want to touch it and mess it up and start ripping and messen wires and connections up.

Just wanted to see if there was an easy way to check a fuse or connection.

I guess I will take it to a local shop and see if they will look at it.

random, but take a look at your wires.

I've heard of thieves that would cut wires slowly disabling alarms slowly.

just in case, cant be too safe now...

Because the place where it was installed is 4 hours away. Previous owner had it installed.

I drove to Philadelphia one night 3 hours away, for an interview I spent the night in philly. The next mornin the alarm work. I drove home and as soon as i pulled into my drive way the alarm stoped working.

But I dont see how a theif would of got to the alram, because the alarm is hooked up to the doors, trunk, and the hood? But it is a good thought - and I actually thought about it quickylas well. But inside the car everything looks good, ie; not cut or pulled wires. Havemt checked under the hood. But like I said the alarm is wired to the hood as well, so if it is opened while the it is armed it will go off.

If nothing at all happens when you press the remote, and it will not go into reservation mode then the alarm brain is....

1- not getting power.
2- not getting a ground.
3- the brain has gone west.

Find the red and red/white main power leads, [heavy gauge wires] check the fuses.
Find and check the black ground wire, all 3 are on the units CN1 harness/plug.
Try a reboot, disconnect batt. neg.(-) terminal, wait a few min. and reconnect. 94

or you have a bad/malfunctioning hoodpin. compustars will not arm if it thinks the hood is open, and obviously remote start doesnt work with the hood open.

that is odd... id disconnect any sensors to the alarm and any ground sensors {door pins, hood pins, trunk latch/pin} and then try to arm/disarm. atleast that would minus some variables.
