Default integra ls long block, short block, what are the differences, pros, and cons? and how can u tell apa

like the title says, what are the main differences, and how do u know if you have a long or short block? i have an complete extra b18b1 motor, and was wondering which block it was. if anyone has any info and can help.... thanks!

It doesn't mean different versions of the engine, like what your question sounds like. Long & short blocks just refer to how much of the engine is included in the deal.

Short Block refers to the engine block with crankshaft & pistons but without the head.

Long Block includes the head. Sometimes it includes the intake and/or exhaust manifolds, so be careful what you agree to - be specific.

If it is a b18b, it is out of a 94-200 ls integra, as im sure youre aware of. As jimblake said, the term short block refers to basicly a block, complete with rotating assy, and poss the oil pan. a long block usually refers to and complete engine, that may or may not contain the intake and exhaust manifolds. if you have the complete engine, you have a longblock.

u guys talk **** to ppl who ask questions like these yet I can guarantee that not 1 of u out there has ever done every job an work on ur vehicles and not had simple questions about **** whetehr u googled it or came on a site like this so stop hatin on the kids question its actually a decent question cuz ive comkpletely swapped engines and done all my work on my cars and didn't know what short or long block meant cuz with old school v8s they don't mean what they do for this a short block v8 isn't just the bottom compared to the longblock so stop hatin on people who are trying to learn freehand rather then payng 30k to go to some tech school that's even worse lol
