tips on taking out engine???
its really easy.
you'll need to disconnect all electrical going to engine
get a cherry picker to pull motor out.
Disconnect radiator hoses from block
undo motor mounts
Undo tranny mounts
and then pull it all out.
obviously make sure that u have the chain from the cherry picker around the motor before you start taking the mounts off....

or you car drop the motor out the bottom(which i did but didn't have very good luck when i did it...also if your gooing to use a cherry picker try to pull the engine out at a little bit of an angle and it will make it soooo much easier

If the transmission is coming out with it, you will have to disconnect the shift linkage. This means you must remove the bitch pin. I got mine out with a 1/4" ratchet extension & a hammer.
Also, the axles will need to come out of the transmission. The easiest way is to use 3/8" ratchet technique to break loose the lower ball-joints from the LCAs. This will give you the room to pop the the axles out of the gear-box and tie them back out of the way.
Also:
- Drain all fluids
- Disconnect the cable from the batter ground terminal
- Disconnect the battery positive cable from the starter
- Disconnect all ground straps (valve cover & transmission)
- Disconnect the engine wire harness from the main wire harness at both shock towers.
- Disconnect the fuel feed line from the fuel filter
- Disconnect the fuel return line from the fuel pressure regulator
- Disconnect the two heater hoses from the fire wall
- Disconnect the air intake arm from the air-box
Good luck...

Oh, I also forgot:
If the car has A/C:
- loosen the A/C belt tensioner & remove the A/C belt
- remove the 4 bolts holding the compressor to the compressor mount (don't mess with the fluid lines)
- Tie the compressor up against the radiator fan w/ some twine so it stays out of the way
- Unbolt the compressor mount from the engine block
- Remove the lower plastic engine splash guards
- Unbolt the compressor mounts rubber section from the frame rail
- Remove the compressor mount from the bottom of the car
