Head gasket...if you keep adding radiator fluid and don't know were it goes its your head gasket....

do this....

let your car cool down, once your engine is cold and can take the cap off the radiator keep it off...now turn on the engine with the radiator cap off....once you turn on your car check inside the radiator and see if the water/fluid is circulating..now you said the thermostat is off....so it should circulate right away...now if you are not sure what the heck is doing...reach for the throdle cable and give it some gas...not to much though or fluid can spit out..give it gas slowly and take a good look at what happens inside your radiator...your fluid should start to move from left to right, you should see a flow...now if thats not happening then it's your water pump...its not circulating ...now keep in mind that the thermostat is off...so it should have no problem circulating...now one more thing it might be if its the original radiator..then it could just be plugged up...not all off it but some were in there its not flowing well.....but most likely it can be your water pump if it does not circulate..if its fine and you see fluid running freely and you just keep over heating...sorry mang...but it could be a blown head gasket...some were in there there is a small leak going into your combustion chamber..and chining up your pistons...if you see white smoke coming out of your tail pipe when you give it gas ...then thats it...also check you OIL cap......take it off..if you see milk dots at the inside part of your oil cap ...then thats water going into your oil...and it could cause it...mmmm other thing to check is your oil...make sure there is oil in there...if there is...make sure is circulating...now to check that..turn on the engine...take the oil cap off...yes..off when the engine is on...but slowly lif once is loose...now grab a towel or something because it might spit some oil out but not much if its at idle...if you see oil coming out of your vavle cover oil cap hole and can see oil spalahing then its fine...if you cant ...give it some gas...again...be carefull...at it might splash a little..if its not splashing...then your oil pick up line on the oil pan might be clogged up a little....thats it all the advice I can give....sorry for the long write up..good luck..

yea deffinetely the head gasket i just recently had the same problem. the middle layer of the gasket was broke between two cylinders. so water was leaking through it. but now the car runs great.

its not my head gasket because my coolant is there but when i drive my car and step on it thats when it starts to overheat and when i touch my radiator hoses the bottom one is cold and so is the bottom part of my radiator but the top hose is hot as hell and really hard all my coolant goes into my overflow tank

your radiator is probably bad then. if one hose is hot and the bottom is cold then there HAS to be a blockage in the system. get yourself a new radiator. or it could deffinitally as wel be your water pump
