ok after i saw your list of engine codes i realised this whole time ive been misled

heres the deal,
i have a 91 si hatch w/a b16a and s1 tranny, I/H/E, and field vtec controller

the prob is the damn check engine light and code 7 (that i thought was TPS)
is TPS the same as throttle angle sensor??
i got a TPS from the junkyard and put it on, mine was broken (physically)
i can only get voltage up to 3.6VDC at WOT with dremmeled out holes
it runs fine and strong, just rich as bill gates.
any advise is appreciated

I don't really know much about the TPS, sorry Code 7 is the TPS, yes. I've never had a problem with mine.

If the car seems to be running good, then it's probably not a TPS problem. If the TPS is going I'd think that you'd feel a lot of surging/leaning out because it wouldn't read a steady voltage. Do you have a manual to check the acceptable voltage range?

 

ive heard (a lot) that .5vdc @ idle and 5vdc @ WOT.
like i said 3.6 is all i can get
i just really want the CEL to go away
