Another engine stand advice in relation to remoer's thread.
Another tip in relation to "remoer's" Thread (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1942690)
I mounted my engine onto a stand today (looks like the same exact stand pictured) that I bought the stand from pep boys.
anyways i used the motor mount bolts with washers to mount the engine.
The mounting points on the stand are too short so if your pressure plate and clutch is still on - it wont work. you'll have to remove those. (note: this is with pep boy's engine stand other's may be different)
I was chatting with Dr Latino about how i can remove the pulley bolt with a motor out of the car. I heard it would be difficult. Since the motor would torque around - I had to make it stable some how, this is where I think the advice falls in:
After my impact did nothing and its teamed with a 26gal 150psi compressor. Tried a 24" breaker bar + a 3ft long section of pipe and it still did not budge, I litterally was lifting myself up. Had my roomate gave it a shot and no success. And you may be wondering what is holding my pulley still so it wont turn. Well some of you and even manuals says to wedge something into the flywheel to keep it from spinning - this works sometimes but with my motor on a stand i snapped 2 punches and 2 screw drivers which were stuck trough the holes where the pressure plates screws into.
Here's my tip.
Pictures are from a cell phone... so yeah... bare with me.

I took the engine lift and chained up the engine which is already on the stand and give it enough lift to hold the motor up.
Shots of where i chained.

And to keep my pulley from moving, I took Nylon rope and I place it trough one of the Pressure Plate screw in hole and around one of the 4 mounting points of the engine stand. I did this in 2 different places after positioning the holes about 1inch below each mounting point.

Nylon rope tenses up and actually holds stronger and tighter. The pulley will tense the nylon and it will hold it still. Now its the battle between you and the pulley.
I allowed my pulley to soak in PB for a good 2 hours before i took a breaker bar and muscled it off. Loud *** pop. Myne poped like 3 times before it was lose enough to use a hand rachet.
hope this helps.
thx to remoer's that i found I can use engine mount bolts for engine stand. I don't have a lowe's near me.
