Oil Pressure *stumped*
Hey all, I was coming home in my b16 crx today and I noticed that my check engine light came on. Well I did not notice any difference in driving. I got on the throttle some coming up my road and I noticed vtec did not engage. I got home and checked the ecu and code 22 showed up( vtec pressure valve).
So I figured I would go ahead and order the oil pressure switch from honda (37250-PR3-003). I got it, installed it, and nothing changed. The check engine light is still showing code 22. The car will start up and idle normal for about 4 seconds then it cuts off.
Oil is full and iam using Royal Purple 10w-30 with about 600 miles on it. Is there some kind of low oil pressure cut off switch that will shut the engine off if the pressure is to low? Could my oil pump be bad?
any input is appreciated.

I took the vtec solenoid assembly off and cleaned it. There was no debris in either screen. I checked the resistance of the wires and they are both within what the manual says.
Just guessing, but for simplicity of design, maybe the oil pressure sending unit also signals the ECU to kill the engine if it's below limits. Check the sending unit, or better yet, get a real guage on the oil system to make sure your pump isn't bad.
