Default So....... After seeing ClubRicer.... which S should I buy?

once every year, i go in for an eye exam b/c i have special disease called coats disease on my right eye.
at the same time, they also check my left eye to make sure everything is ok.
well, today while i was waiting for my doctor(best in field) after going through interns and residents with my pupils dialated, i saw pix of CR and i thought it looked ugly because of the medication.
turns out i have better than perfect 25/20 vision on my left eye

anyways, now i need to make a decision.
i no longer need to wait for CR to come out because it isn't that special anymore
help me decide guys.....

1. USED 2003 NFR AP1 with 7103mi for $23,881. I think i can try to work it down to maybe $22,500 of $23,000 flat.

2. NEW 2006 NFR AP2 with 786mi for $28,492. Test drove it today, car pulls strong, their GM drove it home couple times. However, it has CEL and dealer told me some sensor was wrong without telling me which sensor it is. also the conv. top is squeaking extremely loud and is very annoying.

3. NEW 2008 ??? AP2 CR for $MSRP w/o markup. The dealer said, since i've did business with them before, they'll sell me CR at MSRP.

i had 350z/g35/nismo z in considerations before but i can't ditch S unless i find Zarnardi NSX.

CR is overrated. get the NFR and use the money saved on modding

have you been to gardena honda? i saw a couple of s2000's on the lot for cheaper prices. not sure on how many miles are on them though. ap2 was like $23,xxx. only reason why i remember this is because i was thinking, prices have gone down big time...it's so sad

i really miss my 03 NFR and i want it too
but it's so tempting to buy 06 AP2 @ that price, because i think it's really cheap.
am i making a wrong decision if i buy AP2 just because i think it's cheap?

also, should i stay the hell away from the AP2 that i looked at because
1. it has CEL, and who knows what happened during those 786mi?
2. GM might have over revved or misshifted at redline to wrong gear?
any thoughts?

The 03 has 7103 " who knows what happened during those" miles, which is more than 768.
Since it is new, the dealer, or any dealer, WILL fix those issues you have with the car. Honestly, its up to you, in the end though.

Cell could be anything, tell them you want a print out from the diagnostic before you decide. I love my 07.

test-drive the CR just for the hell of it. Then get the 03 NFR.

a modded ap1 or ap2 is going to be better than the cr, and youl most likely have money left over.

If it were me, I would get a new AP2 (non-CR model). I'm partial to new cars (new technology, newer stuff in general).

Have you seen the pictures and specifications on the Club Racer model? There are no "real" performance adders in there. Of note, I see a thicker sway bar setup, but that can always be purchased separately (in which I'm sure much better ones are available). I believe there is a different spring/shock setup as well.

The main things are the interior modifications (which I'm not a fan of), and the front and rear lip/spoiler. Sure, it's functional, but I really don't like the look of it. There's no A/C and radio (options), and there is no softtop.

Go with the new non-CR AP2.

Ok, I guess don't bother. Who worries about mileage on a Honda?

Cause they know they wouldn't be able to sell that for more than MSRP.

that's why i'm having dilema.
i'd prefer to have 03, because i miss my old S.
however, the price on new 06 is really good, but those little problems are bothering me and prevents me from making a decision.

go with the 06! i wouldnt worry about the cel. there is a tsb for 06 and 07's having to do with a air/fuel sensor, and that it gets damaged. i havent experienced this yet with 8600 miles on the odo, but have heard of a few 06/07 owners experiencing this. have them look into it, read the code, and if its what i think it is, they'll have to replace to air sensor in the exhaust and do some type of reflash to the ecu.

06 at a dealer with a cel? Ummm lemon! I think if they could easily fix it (tsb)they would. Squeek from top on a new car? Lemon! Run, run fast.

03 FTW! or another new 06/07 with no problems.

This is my opinion tho. Good luck man!

^i hope your joking. just because there is a cel, or a squeaky top does not mean its a lemon. now if the cel is for something serious, yeah, run, but not knowing what its for?
