Any Honda Mechanics?
Just wondering if there are any Honda mechanics out there that may be able to give me a round-about price on replacing my timing belt & tensioner in my 98 Hatch. I'd do it myself if I could, but I stick to body work. I'm at about 97k miles and would like to get it done, just wondering on the cost. Thanks in advance!

You can.
Just grab a repair manual, tools, and a helper, and you really shouldn't have a problem. It can be a bit time-consuming, but it's not difficult if you're mechanically inclined. If you take the car to a shop or a dealer, you can expect to pay $400+ for the job.

wow, $275- $400 is really cheap. around my way the dealer is asking for $850. called a local shop, they wanted $700.

Its easy to do your self. Just takes a bit of time.
As long as you can get the crank bolt loose..
If I remember right the cost is upwards of $300-$400 or more.

This is what I would do, it may seem hard; just take it one step at a time.
