I have an IHI AX53 turbo from the Apexi SOHC turbo kit. Last year the Apexi cast manifold that came with the kit started to develop some small cracks. I am looking to purchase a new manifold and downpipe. I was wondering if this turbo has standard IHI flange's? I understand that one of the 4 bolts on the turbine inlet side is a blind hole and I will probably only be able to use 3 of the 4 studs. Will that be sufficient and not cause an exhaust leak? Which BMC Race turbo adapter should I use to bolt to a T3 flanged manifold? Which 5 bolt downpipe flange would fit? I can post pics if needed. Thankyou in advance!

Its a Stantard Garrett T25 flange The greddy, GT series turbos use the same one. Same for the Downpipe flange.

You eventually went with a GT28RS, right? How much did you put down? Dyno graph?

 

this was on 10psi with 3in DP and 2.5 midpipe and 2.25 twin loop muffler. tons of room to grow.

yes apexi manifold. no clearance problems here are few pics.

 

What numbers was your best with the apexi turbo, I´got one and running 15 psi.
Not idea about my numbers.

Do you feel better your gt28 than the apexi??

Also where do you get this downpipe, looks sick.
