Alpine are good, so is pioneer, check those first. Really check out all brands: kenwood, sony, pioneer, alpine and whatever else (I personally wouldn't get dual). And just pick the one with the best features for you. Features like: MP3/WMA compatability, looks, whatever else you need.

I'm on my second Alpine, first one got stolen out of my car. So i replaced it with another. They are very good headunits. I have an alpine HU with all type-s components. It sounds very nice.

My bro has had a couple Premier headunits, I just dont like the faces of them (too flush) and all that damn animated **** lol.

 

I say either Alpine, or maybe an Eclipse, but I dont think Eclipse has anything substantial in that price range.

yea im not for the flashy **** either but I like the way you can actually fine tune your audio , if you know what your doing , and know how to work the radio

 

I lie the Pioneers. Should be able to get a good one for $200. I spent around that for mine.

I'm a fan of alpine, have been for a long time. Just sold a car with an alpine 9833... damn that hu was great, cept the ipod interface was too slow for me... the 9885's interface is their second generation high speed ipod interface and it works GREAT. The viewing angle on the 9885 is awesome too with the biolite display.

sorry to sound like an ad, but the 9885 is the best i've ever seen, especially at $270

 

Get a new pioneer HU with the Ipod cable.
They are selling on ebay for like 190 shipped.
Has three outputs and everything.

alpine check out the pioneer premier 590 retails right around 250, comes with the ipod cord, has 2 lines of text, oel screen, 7 band eq, hp/lp crossovers, aux in, steering wheel control/exernal remote in, p bus controls, blue led illumination, remot control, etc. etc.

 

i used to be a pioneer man but i recently got a new JVC and i really like it...the pioneer dose have better sub controls though.....

 

$200 wont buy you that amazing of a head unit.
