Default vtec sputter

i have a 89 honda civic hatchback with a b16a motor swap with a chipped pr3 ecu so vtec kicks in at 4700 rpm. when vtec kicks in the motor loses power and kind of hesitates until it pulls through at about 5300 or 5500 rpm, then it seems to run fine. i was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem with their b16a.

your engine isnt tuned or built for that.

unchip your ecu or set the vtec at 5500.

who chipped your ecu???

my buddy who went to electronics school installed a socket. i don't have the stock chip, i was wondering what rpm the stock vtec kicks in at. i have several other friends with basically stock b16a's also with chips running vtec @ 4400 and 4500 rpms and they don't have any problems with their vtec.....?
