Default clutch pedal

I jst had my clutch replaced at local shop. i noticed the clutch pedal felt soft, as before i replaced the clutch. i did my search i found outwhat i have to do, the mechanic told me they bled the slave cylinder and its holding pressure, but it still seems that the pedal is soft. he also told me that i would have to baby the clutch for 1000 miles, then i would feel it get harder. can any one help, does this seem right? sry if its long

What kind of clutch did you have installed? If the clutch has been bled and pedal feel is still relatively soft, chances are you have have a very light (read stock) pressure plate. Pressure plate is pretty much what dictates how firm the pedal will be when you step on the clutch pedal to disengage the clutch. A pressure plate with higher than stock clamping forces usually means the pedal will be firmer than stock...
