Default Cleaning head, Block, and Tranny

I will be pulling my motor out, at the beginning of this summer i wanted to know if you guys, can tell me how can i clean the out side casing of the head, block and tranny, they have oil and dry water marks all over them?????

I was hoping to do some of this as well. I did a little work on the motor I am about to put in. I just used a wire brush and some degreaser. Only spent about 10-15 minutes on it so far though. Seems like it should work well.

Simple Green and a steam cleaner worked pretty well for me when I pulled mine apart.

what if i do not have a steam cleaner, anything simpler i can use??

Ive used brake cleaner, carb cleaner, degreaser, and assorment of wirebrushes. all have seemed to work pretty well.

Castrol degreaser (be careful not to get it on your hands though...it'll take the moisture out of your hands like you're peeling), Simple Green, any kind of brake/carb cleaner, wire brushes...water hose or something like that

it doesnt scratches it evenly though. So it just takes all of the **** off of the surface leaving clean metal
