Default engine reving

eh guys i just bought a 1995 honda civic si about a week ago
stil in the garage waiting to sell my old civic
this new one has a GSR engine swap in it

i notcied that when i first start the car up..
even if it is about plus 5..
the engine tends to rev to about 2500 rpms for the first ten mins
than goes back down to about 800-900 rpms..
is there any reason why u guys think this could be??

It's called "cold air enrichment".

It's supposed to do that.

o really
so even if it is +30 outside
it will still rev at about 2500 rpm for the first ten mins
than go back down to about 900?

but it is natural?

If it's 30 degrees out, then yes, the engine will rev higher, then gradually slow as it reaches operating temperature.

However, 10 minutes seems excessive. Possibly a dirty/sticky FITV is to blame?

hey just be glad its not doing that at 3200 like mine used to haha, I had a LSVTEC setup and it would idle at 3200 fixed it though, just a few things here and there like my O2 sensor not working right and what not. thats just normal warming up for a Honda though.

lol. He titles it "engine reving" and it gets a ton of views. Goes to show you what people want...

guarantee most people opened it up to see some 15,000rpm motor.
