Need some help plz
Can anyone tell me how reliable is this company through is experience or otherwise http://www.rimsandthings.com/index.htm . I'm wanting to order the D16y8 from them.But i wanted to do some research before i do its a great price.also since its a JDM motor will i still have put a purge sensor on it and change the o2 sensor.I have a 97' dx coupe so will i be able to use a ex harness and ecu. or may i use the ecu and harness that comes with it.Here is the motor http://www.rimsandthings.com/j...6.htm. i want to thank ya in advance any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the money you pay for that Y8 why dont you just get a d15B from HMotorsonline its a lot cheaper and more reliable.. Y8=weak oil pumps especially for boosted applications.. Hope this helps...
thanks but alot more work and money cuz hmotors sells D15 longblock engines for 499.00 then 175 for tranny and ecu for 125+80 for conversion harness =879 for the swap + ship .ya sucks cuz i have a dx so i need it all
.but i do like the better oil pump. i was reading up on swaping the d15 and you have to add the purge sensor and have the ecu chipped .i have $1000.00 to get a swap and i love the 15kto40k mileage on the jdm motors.and finding a decent motor in the ohio valley you can for get that. but thank you very much hondasarethebest.plz write back to give your point of veiw on the hmotors thing

What year car are you working with?? is it a manual??? Whats wrong with your tranny.. Maybe i need to find out more about your setup...Dont know why you just can swap the intake manifold that is on your car now.. unless you dont have a single cam in there now...And with any motor doing a conversion harness to OBD1 is the best...TUNING was my best mod
its a 97 dx i bought it from some girl had 4 dwi/dui wrecks in it it had 3 rods knocking .ive gotten the body straight as an arrow now and i took the y7 out and scraped it and sold the auto tranny so i still have the ecu and harness but thats about it. and honda i want to thank you for helping me though this mess my poor coupe has been in the garage for almost 8 months now and im ready to get it on the road.
Have you already converted to manual or are you keeping automatic???? Y8 will probally be your best bet unles you plan on converting to obd1 then you might have emissions problems depending on your state... for your application i thing that running the y8 will be the best bet being what your car is and stuff like that
it is converted to manual and we have no emissions test where im at so i could put a 350 in it if i wanted lol.but seriously my only problem is tring to find a decent swap.
