Slave cylinder or Clutch master cylinder or other?
I replaced the slave cylinder with a used one. I know I know, it's not worth the headache buying a used one but it actually came with the hard lines that I replaced. So after installing the lines/slave cylinder I bleed it twice and refilled it and bleed it a little more so there is no air in the system. Now I noticed the clutch pedal feels a little to soft half way in and then slightly stiff. The car pulls right away after slightly lifting the clutch pedal in 1st gear, but why is it so soft half way down?
- I installed a exedy stage 1 clutch kit with a fidanzza 8 lb flywheel
- B16 tranny
-B20z block
Let me know what you guys think might be the problem.

I had quote for a slave cylinder for $48 new from a aftermarket place. On ebay it costs around same too. I'm sure I bleed it right, could it be that the slave cylinder is bad?

I was thinking about that, but the weird thing is it was fine before when I had a regular b16 swap in there. The line was damaged so I replaced the entire line from CM cylinder to the slave
***THIS JUST IN***
I haven't drove the car since yesterday. Just a while ago I decided to take it for a spin and noticed it's tougher to put it in gear now and the clutch pedal is still slightly soft half way down.

check you clutch master cylinder. Put your head up under the dash and see if it's leaking inside the car. If it isn't leaking, then I don't think you bled it properly.

you dont have to change the master unless it was working fine with stock clutch then after putting in a after market clutch it went soft or to hard w/e . aftre market clutch has a different throw then stock so in some cases you would need to change the master''''a new master not used''''' it happened to me when i put in a 4 puck centerforce in my hatch so yea think of when the problem started before or right after the clutch change

the second replyer had the right answer - i just replaced the master cylinder - and it was feeling the same way you said. although it COULD be the slave - try adjusting the length of the rod on the master cylinder.
take out the cotter pin
pull out the "****"
seperate the pedal from the MC
unscrew the end-part from the MC (not off...just more..."off")
reconnect the the parts... try again.

what about replacing the master and not the slave? could the slave also go bad?
