clutch master cylinder?
Is it only bad if they start leaking? How do u know really if the clutch master cylinder is bad? My tranny sometimes don't wanna go into gears until I pump the clutch pedal a few times. I replaced the slave cylinder and bled it until pedal is stiff, but once in awhile as I'm driving, it'll feel a little softer and I have to pump the clutch a second time to get it into gear. The clutch kit is new, slave is good, the system as no air, and the reservoir is always full w/ no signs of leak anywhere; so I'm doubting it's the master cylinder, but many have suggested it in the past. what ya'll think?
there is no master cylinder, only for brakes. There's the resevoir and the slave cylinder on the transmission itself. If it's not leaking fluid it should be ok. Did you replace with an OEM unit? Try flushing out the fluid and putting in a brand new bottle and re bleed it.
There is a clutch master cylinder. I just changed mine. Did you try to bleed it first? Mine was leaking. Look inside the car and see if it is leaking. My carpet had oil on it.
I bled the **** out of it and the pedal is stiff. My fluid is always full, so I doubt that it's leaking. I also already changed out the slave cylinder just in case but it wasn't that. The problem is when I'm driving and come to a stop I can't get it into gear because the clutch gets a little mushy sometimes so I have to let up all the way and depress it (pump it) a couple times until I hear this weird click on my clutch pedal and after it clicks, it is then able to go into gear

you can adjust the pedal from under the dash just screw out the rod and try it.
if not try bench bleeding the master cylinder.

Thanks.
"Bench bleeding" means bleeding the master cylinder on the bench as opposed to being in the car. This usually applies to brake master cylinders. As far as adjusting the rod goes, if you lay your head on the floormat and look up at the rod going to your clutch pedal from the master, you will see a 12mm locknut on the rod where it attaches to the clutch pedal. Loosen the 12mm locknut and turn the rod to adjust freeplay. Then lock it in place with the 12mm locknut.
If I were you I would bleed the clutch some more, several times in fact. If you still have a problem, it may be that the problem is mechanical in nature and not hydraulic.

Thanks for the info on adjusting the rod. You said it could be mechanical, like what?
