WTF???

I went to install My MSD Cap that i happened to have laying around my house on my buddies 99 civic. He had the whole set up already with the blaster coil tower mount on the stock distributor cap. So anyways..i put the New Cap in...and the car turns..doesnt start..wtf? put the stock cap back in...doesnt start..wtf? I dont think the blaster coil is getting power..but i really didnt play with any of the wires...anyone have any ideas??

I saw a post like this one a while back but I dont rember what the solution was sorry! I would like to know now im looking into a aftermarket ignition!
