Default ATTN Exhaust Gurus. X-Pipes?

hello, i know x pipes are for v style engines and not for 4 cylinders. but i have always wondered, what are the true advantages of it, ir is it outdated like a lot of stuff most domestic guys are so stuck on and its just a fad. i dont see how it helps scavenge and pull exhuast gases out any faster. somebody like randy, tony, etc could elaborate a bit better for me. haha

An X pipe is used when you have two banks of cylinders to balance the pressure across the exhaust. A four cylinder doesn't need one.

X pipe flows better if done right.

It helps with scavenging.

There is currently a HUGE debate on LS1tech.com about H vs X. Though most people on the forum have X pipe, and I went with X pipe myself. You will make more HP with an X/H than just having the piping maintain a seperation.

I do know from other people's experience on LS1's that the H pipe is quieter, but you really don't do true duals to be quiet.

You also get a different note on LS1's as well.

I dont like x-pipes ,they make the motor sound light..You get an h-pipe it makes it sound deep and heavy like a v8 should...

I think most of these new corvettes run aftermarket x-pipes and thats why they all sound like ****,,
