upper 200s to low 300s is "safe" for daily driving.....there are plenty of people making those kind of numbers on stock B's including myself

a buddy of mine mad 295 whp 210 wtq on a gt2871 on a bone stock b16 @ 13psi of boost.

Ran great for a year till he pulled it, still had the same compression test numbers as it did before it was boosted.

Only pulled it because he wanted to go bigger and build another motor.

I'm currently running anywhere from 3-8psi on my gt30r on a stock b16 shortblock, cometic headgasket and built gsr head (ends up being a little over 9:1 c/r) just waiting till i get bored with it and put the built motor in.

This motor also is the one that feels best out of boost for me. I've had a 10:1 84mm b16 and 10:1 84.5mm b16, and this lower compression one feels like it's got more down low.

Lots of people turbo stock block b16's .. they run fine ... just give it some conservative timing and dump a little extra fuel and don't go too crazy with the boost and you'll be okay.

Wow. 9lbs on what TURBO?

9lbs on a t25 = +20hp
9lbs on a gt35r = +200hp

Stock b16s can handle a beating, but just spend the money on someone who can really tune - not your friend with the LC-1

mine was free ... and it was also my friend with the lc-1

but then again, my friend also owns a local shop ... haha

seriously though - tuning is key. Like i said, conservative timing and a good amount of fuel and your b16 will 'luv u lawng timmme'. Ringlands is really the only weakpoint of a stock b16 as opposed to other b series, keep em happy

B16a are great to boost on, we do stock motor setups quite often on them. They last forever and make great power.
