Default T25 on b16a?

Buddy is getting rid of a T25 turbo, just wondering... plan on getting a b16a hatch to boost. How would this turbo fair? Running stock internals, daily driver. Wanna make sure the turbo will be efficient enough? It's on a 97 Eclipse GST... any one make manifolds/dp's that'll work with an 92 hatch w/ a b16a with that turbo?

it would be a really really small turbo on that motor.
you would boost fast as hell, would probably be at full boost 3500 rpm, it would work, but most would use something a little bigger...

I don't mind fast boost, and would actually prefer it.

On my Prelude, I was using a T3 .42/.48 which was great, but the car is gonna be totaled so I don't know if I'd be able to pull it back off so I can use it on my next car.

I know somebodu who used a dsm t-25 on there b16. It reached full boost at like 3800 and then kinda fell on its face after 7k. But it was pretty quick. There are better turbos that can better match your power band out there that are pretty decent in price.

t3's are great for daily driving. All your powers where you want it. But take it to the track or on a long straight away and you'll be disappointed. Go with a little bigger turbo if you're doing any kind of track racing.

There's a b16 hatch with a t3/t4 custom turbo around me. I'll tell what you it's pretty quick. It'll pulls on my type s early but after 5-6 grand I walk him. (Oh yeah he's also got that hatch on the bottle).

Running a small t-25 will have you bored after a few weeks. People will also expect a turbo hatch to be much faster so you'll prob. get smoked a lot.

Its your call

Well, my biggest deal is just sourcing a quality used turbo that won't need a rebuild...and a T3/T4 is a little too big for my tastes, I really liked the size of the T3 and when it spooled.

why does it fall on its face after 7k?

The dsm-t25 is just not a good match for the b16. Any t-3 really, or better yet, a t3-t4 is a better match. The b16 doesn't make a whole lot of low end power, it is all up top, so you want a turbo that will make power at a higher rpm.

Yep. Even though a b16 displaces the same as a d16, the R:S ratio is different (larger bore, shorter stroke). With a t25 on a d16, there is a really nice surge of power at sub 4000 rpm levels, but that surge will not be nearly as impressive on a b16.
