Spark Racing, Current Problems? (H-Beam Rods)
I used the search and read 100+ threads about pros and cons of the company, but nothing in the last about year.
Im thinking about buying their rods and was wondering how they hold up for the turbo guys? Im also going to post this on HMT. Have they gotten better int he last year for customer service or do they still suck?
Thank you, Raley

I cant answer your question for you.. but
If you want a budget rod thats been proven... You can get eagle rods for $300 shipped from many sponsors on here.
To me thats pretty damn cheap for what it is.

yea i would go with eagles for your build, imo thier the best rods for people building engines on a budget. the will hold a good amount of hp for reliable engines, if you are gonna boost the hell out of your motor i would suggest manley or pueter rods. they hold up alot better and are beefier
Just like a couple other's have said. I would go with Eagle's for a budget build before I went with an unknown rod

I thought i heard somewhere Eagle was putting out rods to support 700whp+ on their newer gear.
Raley, can't say I can help you out but like most said, Eagles are thrown around here by almost every seller.

I think they are 'rated' at 600hp. I really dont see how you can 'rate' A rod by HP.

I remember reading something like that as well. I would go with pauter or manley tt's if I went over 500 consistently.

The thing is that rpm and piston weights have a bigger effect on rod failure than HP.A tension rating would be a better comparison rating.Rods rarely fail in compression which would have more to do with HP.
My vote would be to go with the Eagle rods.

ok cool. i was planning on eagles then stumbled upon the spark rods and was wondering what everyone else though.
im aiming for around 350-400hp, b16 t3/to4 (turbo will be about maxed out), this is with GSR cams and tuned with crome pro, till i get it all together, then i'll do Neptune.

i think the new eagles are rated to 900whp
and the normal way manufacturs rate a rod is hp per rod, not the overall engine. so if they are actually rated for 900hp, thats like 225hp/rod.
