Removing Broken Stud
So I'm removing a broken valve cover stud in my Z6 head, and its about 3 mm into the head. I'm trying to drill a pilot hole for my easy out with a 1/8" Titanium Drill Bit, but it went down a fraction of a mm and has not made any more progress. Any ideas for removing this stud, or at least getting a hole into the stud?

LOL, just had to throw it out there.... using a Titanium drill bit and not making progress? Hmmmm.... I'd say you'd have problems if the bit was dull, that's all I can really think of. Although in my experience sometimes you get studs/bolts that just seem to not cooperate no matter what you do. As a last resort you may just want to try drilling it out one size over then re-tepping and threading.

Well it's a fresh drill bit, just bought it this morning. But since I'm getting annoyed, I've switched weapons to the Drill Out Micro Power Extractors from Craftsman. Let's see if a left hand rotating bit helps.
Well in all likely hood, the cylinder head is now trashed, when hitting the pilot hole we manage to get with the eazy-out the cam cap cracked, and part of it is missing and we think it fell into the motor somewhere.
