Default 98 civic si cam adjustment

hey everyone,
i have a 98 civic si sohc..(standard gear box) the problem that i have is when i am driving and come a complete stop or i hit the clutch while even when the car is in motion the engine will turn off..it has no problems turning back on, and if the vehicle has stopped for a few min and then turned back on without moving then it will remain turned on..i did some research and found out that the cam's need to be adjustted, because there is a knocking noise coming from the engine when i hit the gas...i've found instructions and pictures on how to adjust them..so i have somewhat of an idea on how to fix the problem..but the only problem is the instructions were for a dohc engine mine is a sohc so the proccess is different..does anyone have any links or pictures that could help me adjust the cams on a 1.6 sohc engine ? thanks a lot

Perhaps because you don't live in Canada or pay attention when the Si (our EX equivalent) is discussed.

Now, if anyone wants to offer him some actual assistance, please do.

Default 98 civic si , cam adjustment

well maybe the reason you've never heard of 98 si is because i live in canada you would better know it as the 98 ex model that they brought out in the states..anyways thanks for your input but putting my car down didn't help to make the situation any better lol..well i figured out where the adjustment screws are on the sohc, what i need now is the right adjustment settings...does anyone know if there's a special tool or something that measures the right compression ratio or something ? thanks to those who tried to help

Are you talking about VALVE ADJUSTMENT? Thats the only conceivable thing I can think of having to adjust.
Its fairly easy to do.
Use the guide posted above.

Don't get carried away now...

Certainly though, the whole forum could benefit from less bashing/flaming and more helpfulness. Let's all try to keep things headed in that direction.
