98 Civic - any gearboxes I could put on to help with acceleration?
Hi,
I bought my 98 civic 1.5i ls about a month ago. No one told me how bad main shaft bears could get, They said that mine was fine and is usual for them to make a noise once clutch was lifted up.
Finally after a month the bears popped out and have now busted the gear box so in need of a new one. I was wondering are there any gearboxes that I could put on to help with acceleration.
Maybe the 1.6 dohc gear box?
Thanks in advance!

What counry are you in? I'm guessing somewhere in Europe. The US EX/Si D-series transmission has the shortest gear ratios. (I think the Euro equivalent is the ESi or SOHC VTi)
