i got a jdm 94 b16 which is obd1 but i got it in my obd0- crx wit the obd0 pr3 and the obd0 ecu..... before i had an obd0 ls distributor with the kut leg and i was getting a code 8 which is TDC top dead centre so i got a new jdm b16 distributor also because i was having an oil leak, it was fine for about 75 miles but now i got the code 8 again and the distributor is new what can it be? also i am geting a code 23 for knock sensor but do i really need it??? im obd0 not obd1 so do i really need it??????

you dont need a knock sensor if your ECU is chipped properly

 

thats the thing it is not chipped i jus dont understand y a pr3 would throw a knock sensor if it obd0 didnt come with knock sensors

obd0 did come with knock..

 

so y is it that u need knock for obd1 and not obd0?

my obd0 pr3 and pw0 will throw a code for knock if its not connected..

what are you talking about?

im talking about A B16 not single cam crap..

 

i believe this is how it goes all DOHC VTEC motors require a knock sensor as a part of emissions and in order for the vtec to kick in. no matter what year or obd_ version it is.
and if u wana get rid of ur PW0 lmk i need one.

 

i have a pw3 not 0 and my vtec still pops with the knock sensor code proving that u dnt need one on an obd0 car its jus da check engine is annoying me

They gave you useful advice. You came up with every reason in the world why they were wrong. So why try.

...and yes...obd0 DOES have/need a knock sensor.

heres a thumb ill let you decide where you put it.

Knock sensor I think will retard timing. Get it chipped right and have em remove it.
