Default Well, I threw a rod on Monday...

I had a boosted Y8 with a GReddy kit and I threw a rod on the interstate on Monday (wish I was looking at the boost gauge). This only gives me a reason to build one now.

I've got some Vitaras and H beams on the way and I have another Y8 at my work that was free and came out of a running car.

My questions is that will an OBD2a Y8 go into an OBD2b vehicle without any problems?

I know that to OBD2a Y8 has a crank angle positioning sensor that the OBD2b motor doesn't have. Is it OK to just remove the sensor?

I just remembered that I've have a Crome chipped P06-VTEC ecu that's going in it so I won't have to worry about a few of the sensors anyways...

Is it completely necessary to remove the crank to take the rods and pistons out?
