Default sandwich plate question

im getting ready to do ls/vtec turbo setup and i dont feel like tapping the oil sending unit spot for three things (pressure gauge, feed line and vtec line) so i was goint to buy a sandwich plate. Was wondering all you turbo guys that have ran sandwich plates if yall ever had any issues with them clogging?

Wondering also if anyone has any experience with the mfactory one?

was thinking about getting the golden eagle.

i tried searchin about the mfactory one couldnt find anything.

The Golden Eagle conversion kit is a very nice kit. Has everything you need. I am currently using the Golden Eagle kit for the head/turbo. I also have a MOCAL sandwich plate that supplies the oil cooler. The MOCAL is on the GE plate and I use it for the oil cooler because it has a built in thermostat so it only lets oil go to the cooler once it is hot enough to need it.

This is as best of picture that I currently have of it:

ge sucks cuz it only has 2 1/8 npt ports

i'm running the ac autotechnic one which has 4 ports and i am useing all 4 of the ports. lsvtec feed, turbo feed, oil temp gauge sender and oil pressur gauge sender

you cant see the 4th port but its on the top and the oil temp sender is on the top port

i also got an extra one for sale if you want it

That is false. The Golden Eagle plate has (2) 1/8" NPT ports along with a port that you can use a -6,-8, or -10AN fitting for the head. In your case you are only using three 1/8" ports because the line you are using for the head ("lsvtec feed") should not be 1/8".....at least for your head's sake, I hope not.
From what I've read, tapping the oil pan for the temperature gauge is a more ideal spot.

i'm not sure what you mean its not safe
i run a 1/8 npt 90 to -6an fitting on the adaptor plate to feed the head with a -6 ss line. i been doing that for years and its fine. what i'm geting from you is that 1/8 mpt port is not big enought to feed the head. but then before these adaptors even came out ppl use to feed the head by t ing the oil light switch which is 1/8 bspt which is basically the same sie hole as 1/8 npt. also the oem oil supply to activate vtec under the vtec heads are very small. smaller than 1/8 npt.

also taping the oil sender at the pan gives you the coldest reading from the whole engine

i run a GE too -- read somewhere around here that the more generic brands (ebay) dont filter the oil too well.

food for thought.

heres the one im running:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

nothing but quality from those guys. the thing that i like about it was that for about the same price as the ge, it also comes with the ss line and both fittings to run the line from the sandwich to your head. ive also bought a vacuum block, a tow hook, and dowel pins from these guys- the quality is awesome
