Im trying to install some fog lights I got from apc(....)
Anyway I will just go through the whole thing so whoever answers can understand better. So I have 2 wires hanging from each fog, I grounded both lights, and ran the long red wriring into the car. Now I also have a relay with 3 wires, a switch, and another ground.
The diagram is garbage and I think is for the wrong thing, because it keeps mentioning a white wire, and some stuff I dont even have.
Anyway I have the fogs grounded, and the wiring from the fogs into the car, now I am stuck and dont know what to do. I ground the switch, added power to it, and connected the relay to that. All of a sudden my ground wire SMOKES like crazy!! It filled the whole car with smoke. I even undid the neg battery terminal.

hope you only use these when its foggy.. who am i kidding.. no your not.. oh well.
all you should have to do is ground the light and then connect the other wire to a switch 12 volt source.. since your going to be using these all the time and blind on coming traffic just use the head light fuse.. or you can use the cluster/radio fuse. good luck

Thanks, I didnt even end up using the relay or the switch. Just grounded the headlights, and put it to the 12v power connected to the corner lights. I like it like this better anyway
i love how when an install goes wrong, its the 'stupid' inanimate part thats incorrect.
edit: i see you have made a few posts with various problems.
that is why i only do one thing at a time. it makes things a hellova lot easier when figuring out the bugs.

you probly got the same ones i did, the wiring that comes with them makes no sence, we used some of it but got other wire and re-done some, antway glad you got it figured out, the relay saves alot.

LOL, when you ground the switch and then add power to that, it creates what is called a short to ground... Yes, it burns up the wire and smokes like crazy. It's supposed to be the power wire from the lights to the switch and then the other side of the switch to power.
(-)-----lights------switch------(+) <-that is what the completed circuit should look like

Who cares if theyre wired up to the headlights? Why would they be blinding people when they aim like 5feet in front of the car? headlights are like 50 watt and your worried about being blinded by something thats usually under 20watt?
Thats my opinion.
