Vehicle Speed Sensor
I need help locating the VSS ( Vehicle speed sensor ) in 1991 honda accord, I have seen a diagram on about.com but that just wasn't enough help, I can't seem to locate it. Is it inside of something?, is there something I have to remove to gain access to it?, the diagram seems too confusing, just doesn't help. Please help and thank you in advance.
Another question, Would the vss malfunction cause the transmission control module to malfunction aswell? Thanks!

You have to remove the air intake, air filter housing up to the throttle body.
From there you can look straight down from the EGR down to the transaxle.
It's close to the rear engine mount on top of the transaxle differential housing.

When the speedometer doesn't work, the transmission doesn't automatically shift, I have to shift it and its only gives me gear 1 and 2, but when the speedometer is working, the transmission shifts alone and I have all 4 gears. I was wondering if that has anything to do with the VSS, I was thinking maybe the TCM is dependent on the VSS, idk.
