Ok so tonight my car was sitting in a parking lot idling for about 30 minutes or so while I was talking to a friend and all of the sudden the car just shut off. Like someone just turned the key off. I went back into the car to restart it and it took a few extra turns to get it started again but then ran fine just like normal. My question is why did it do that? I have the Viper 791xv installed on this car, could the alaram/remote start caused it to just shut off? after a certain amount of time? This was the first time in over a year I think the car had really idled that long. It is just really wierd. The car had a half a tank of gas and was running quite normal. Any thought???

 

your fuel managmeng system could be clogged i'ved had it happen b4, or else you should replace your battery, the alarm should have nothing to do with it, unless do you habve the remote start package?

There is a recall for 96-00 civics and other makes as well. Call your loval honda dealer and see if the ignition switch has been replaced, smae thing happened to me on the freeway, its a defect where the ignition switch causes your car o stall out at any given time, mine happened onthe freeway going 80mph.
