Ahhh!! 2001 Accord Check Engine Light!!
Which wires to jump on the connector?? It's 16 pins by the drivers side. I'm gonna try the gas cap trick. I know that the scan tool is the best way to go, but I rather do things myself..

on the passenger side fuse panel, pull out #13, 7.5A clock back up fuse, for a few seconds, and put it back in,
noo u wont have to re-input the radio code, just reset the time
in case u didnt know, theres a fuse puller in the fuse box under the hood

Besides the count the clicks method, you can always go to almost any auto parts store and they will hook up their OBD-II port scanner and it will give you the CEL code and a description of the problem. That's all you need-from there the morons that work there will start giving you their take on hte problem. Just smile, nod, and leave. They are always wrong. I've done this MANY times and they are always wrong. Take the code home and google it, or submit it to this site. These guys are very knowledgeable, especially if you can provide the real code.
is the 99 accord and the 01 accord the same ECU code setup?
I cant seem to find ECU codes for a 99 accord. im getting 42 (which is cat or o2 sensor, and 70 which is AT tranny malfunction) car drives fine, i know the cat wont be a problem but if code 70 is not the AT code what could it be
the code 70 refers to AT malfunction on a 98 but i figured its the same for a 99 if its not can anyone help out.
thanks

same codes. If you want to know what the specific code really means, you'll need to get the code pulled using a scanner. AutoZone does this for free...
i pulled the 40 amp fuse to let it reset - no code yet, did no repairs either-
we'll see ina few days- ill try to keep you guys updated
im surprised that the code 070 didnt come back instantly if its a tranny thing- even had the car on the highway

Some codes take a few cycles before they actually trigger the CEL, although I couldn't tell which codes behave that way. Also, in some situations, the problem occurs randomly or intermittenly.
