Default engine harness question

Here's the deal, when I bought my 98 ek, it had a obd1 b16 in there. It was running a p28 through a obd2->obd1 harness.
Now I'm gonna drop in an obd2 98 d16y8 and I was wondering if the old harness from the b16 would work and if everything would just plug into it. Would I just need to take off the conversion harness to run the ecu? and would all the sensors and everything plug into the new motor?

if the harness on the b16 is OBD1 you cannot use it to run with an OBD2 motor. the plugs for the injectors and distributor are different. it is possible if you switch the injectors (not sure if that works) and repin the distributor plug. and you would have an extra plug that goes to the knock sensor (not used on d16y8)

also, why would you go from a b16 to a d16?

well i think the engine harness is obd2 because of the fact i'm running a 0bd2-obd1 conversion harness. Could it just be that certain things are pinned for for obd1? I am completely dumb-founded when it comes to wiring and all that kind of stuff.

i got my damn hood popped and got a $600 fix-it ticket. So instead of paying it, I sold my motor and decided to drop in something legal in there. I'm using this as my dd for school and can't afford tickets like that right now.
plus, that thing was TORQUE-LESS!! I'm planning on a turbo set up down the road anyways.

a turbo b16 is even better. but i can totally understand the ticket situation.
though california is a nice place, it sucks to live there (as far as owning a car anyway).

yea man, that was my plan from the beginning, to boost the b16. but because of that ticket and being a starving college student, i had to sacrifice that for the mean time.
anyways though, what can I do to my harness to make it work for an obd2 d16?
