Default Hunting - ITR engine in a mini - free case of beer

A free case of bear to anyone that solves my problem , basically i will let a picture tell you what i have :

anyway its in and running now , but "hunts" , and i want to find out if the CEL light flashes , 2 problems :

1) i dont have a CEL light as its in a mini , so anyone know what pins on the ECU controll the light ?
2) i dont have a little grey connector to short out to make the CEL flash .. as i have cut it from the loom , again anyone know the pins on the ecu ?

its a P72 ecu ODB2 ? out of a UK ITR

if its hunting it could be a simple as a vacuum leak, or possibly TPS or IACV issue.

cheers guys , i run http://www.16vminishop.co.uk , and this is my first honda conversion .. learning allot !!!

anyway i have figured out that A18---gry/red-------MIL ( ECU LIGHT ) is the light , not sure if its a -ve or +ve that comes out the ecu .. but will find out tommorow.

also i think mayne the two wires i need to short out are :

C7---red/wht-------SCS (service check connector)
C8---lt grn ---------K Line (scan tool) (TXD/RXD (data link connector))

but could be wrong on that

what should the LIM light do in normally operation ? come on for a few seconds when you turn the key and go out if all is well ?

Check you idle screw. Turn it in until it's tight.

there are quite a few mini around with that swap. I will see if I can get in touch with them.

Are you sure its an ITR engine? A P72 ECU is a GSR ECU. Also, ITRs come stock with a red valve cover. Either way if it is an ITR engine, you are using the wrong ECU on it. A P73 ECU is for an ITR.

Here, but this has nothing to do with it being in a mini.

And yeah... it may be a few more years before mine is road worthy.

Extended Front Clip FTL btw.

why dont you just run an OBD1 chipped ecu or Hondata?
You will make more power and be able to see what codes you are pulling with the datalogging
Plus you shouldnt have to worry with emissions because the mini was pre OBD1. correct?
