Default Tach question

i know that obd2a motors get their tach signal from the distributor.

where does obd2b motors get their signal?

i just put a obd2b motor in to my obd2a car. i rewired the distributor using obd2b plugs. i just need to figure out how to get the tach working.

They get it from the same place ..... I have an OBD2B (2000 Civic EX) cluster in my OBD2A (1997 Civic CX) car. It works, no wiring necessary.

well what im saying is the 96-98 has a 9pin distributor plug(the extra wire is the tach signal). however the 99-00 has a 8pin. it missing the tach signal wire that the 96-98 has. ist gotta get it from somewhere else then.

yeah not sure about the newer civics but on EG's its a baby blue wire you can find either on the insider driver side of the firewall, outside driverside of the firewall, and on the distributor
