Main Bore Diameter + Align Bore Question - D16Z6
Does anyone know the factory main bore diameter on a D16A/Z6 motor? I have a sleeved block lying around sans mains, a set of D16A6 mains, and a D16A6 crank. Before we go ahead for a align bore on the combination we have to know the factory main bore which for some reason isn't in the FSM (maybe they are trying to tell me something).
Also, the professional engine builders / machinists here, how much material do you take off for a align bore and where abouts do you go from taking it (Mostly from the main caps or equal distribution from the block, how far do you trim the mains' legs)? For reference, none of the bearing surfaces have been spun, it's just matching a non native main cap with a different block.

its not really up to the factory specs
it really depends on the crank your using, and the bore on the block/girdle when assembled without the crank
when the crank is measured, and is checked for a consistent diameter all around, then the bore on mains need to be matched to those on the crank
theres not really a sheet you can get the specs from Honda on what they meant it to be, thats why theres the stamps on the block and cranks... to mate the block to the crank
we at least know that the colors code meant that the diameters were different on size, but the actual size its unknown to the public

Now that was a high quality answer
I was hoping there was a nice overall diameter like the B-Series, but it looks like it's going to be an effort of measure everything thrice to come out with the proper sizing.
