Default Block Sleeved and Crank wont spin

Well I had my block sleeved this winter and now I am putting it together. All of my main bearing clearances are on, but whenever I tighten the 5th main cap, the crank wont spin. I can tighten the other 4, but when the 5th is tightened, the crank wont spin. I really hope I dont ned to send my block back to the machine shop. Any ideas what it may be?

Thanks,
Craig

Measure ur clearances on the number 5 bearings bro, use a plastigauge and most likely the bearings you are using are off, then order new ones to spec

I allready measured them, they are on the tight side, but still within spec. It seems like if I can tighten all, but the 5th and have it spin, then it shouldn't need to be machined, but I could be wrong.

Did you have the main bores checked? Probably need a line bore.

don't take any chances. take the block to a reputable machine shop and have them take a look at it. you won't regret it !

How did you store your crank?

The crank was stored inside my house so I dont think it would be a bent crank. I layed a straight edge across my main bearings and it seems like the center main is a bit higher than ther others so I think I need an align bore.

If I get an Align bore what is the best way to do the bearings?

thanks,
Craig

I was messin with it some more and I realized that the crank wont spin if the number 5 main cap is the only one installed so I am gonna try some new bearings to see if it fixes it.

SAME EXACT thing happened to me. I made a thread about it. I threw some red honda bearings in the #5 main, and it helped a little. I switched to another block, so I don't need the red bearings, you want them? You can come pick them up from me if you want.

If you store a crank on it's side for a long time, it can bend. But if you heat it up in an engine by spinning a bearing or wiping out a thrust, you better believe the heat will also bend the crank.
