well i found a eg with a b16 in it for 2000. thing is car turns on but doesnt run. he said it needs a throttle cable and other things but he doesnt know for sure. should i risk it and buy it cuz i am in real need of a eg since i just crashed mines. im not sure if i should risk cuz i dont know much about motor work.

 

i'd buy it, could be something very simple, i once bought a 93 coupe for 1500 with a gsr, turned out the fuel pump was bad haha

 

Hard to say imo. A throttle cable isn't going to make the car not idle thats for sure. Or is that whet you mean when you said turns on? If it does idle, let it idle and listen for anything strange... then check the oil... then ask/do a leakdown test on it. If you can do all of that (assumeing it idles) then you should be good to go.. Oh and work the throttle body with your hand to rev it up and listen for a spun rod bearing.

i would go for it.

just getting ti in your name might be difficult if it doesnt run....unless you got a hookup

 

if the body is strait jump on it, also turn it on, rev the **** out of it, if it sounds good, buy it, worse case scenario is the tranny is bad.
